At the annual SOBHD UK Champion of Champions Oscar celebration the following dancers were awarded the Oscar trophies for the year 2011 to 2012: Senior Winner: Candice Walker Junior Winner: Abbie MacNeil Adult Winner: Laura Smith The three young ladies are pictured at the recent presentation held in Edinburgh. Congratulations to Irene McKechnie who has been awarded the 2012 Atholl Clasp. Irene was presented the award by SOBHD Chairman Christine Lacey at the recent SOBHD AGM.

Congratulations to May Hughes who celebrated her Diamond Jubilee of teaching on the 12th November 2012 with a special dancing display attended by over 500 people.

The International Gathering of Scottish Highland Dance with Competition is now open for enquiries. In November 2011 the first IGSHD at Disneyland Paris took place. 32 dancers from the SOBHD performed at the celebration for Prince William’s Investitude at the Order of the Thistle of St Giles in Edinburgh on Thursday 5th July.
