Congratulations to May Hughes who recently celebrated 60 years of teaching, Ritchie Gibson who celebrated 50 years of teaching and Celia Orr who recently celebrated the 40th anniversary of her dance school. All three teachers were presented with certificates at the January meeting of the SOBHD.

The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo has requested the support of the Scottish Official Board of Highland Dancing in selecting a successor to Billy Forsyth MBE for the position of Dance Director. The International Gathering of Scottish Highland Dance with Competition is now open for enquiries. In November 2011 the first IGSHD at Disneyland Paris took place.
